Meatloaf


2.5 lbs / 1 kg ground beef (use your favourite meat)
1 small onion finely chopped
3 gloves garlic crushed
1 tsp marjoram (oregano)
1 tsp salt, pinch of pepper
1 large egg
1/4 cup breadcrumbs (plain or flavored)
1/3 cup milk
1 cup water
optional: 4 slices bacon, 3 hardboiled eggs

Mix thoroughly all the ingredience besides water and optional ones. The best way hot to put all together is with your hands. Taste and add salt if needed. If you are using pork or poultry fry a bit of the meat on a pan and taste cooked.

Form a loaf, put it in the baking dist and add water. Bake for 40-50 minutes on 395 F / 200 C.

Slices of bacon you can use to cover the meatloaf before baking, it will create nice crunchy crust. Boiled eggs can be used as a center of your meat loaf, just wrap them in while creating the loaf.

Serve with cooked or mashed potatoes or fresh bread. Slice of pickle is always a nice touch to this dish.

Tip: You can bake this meat mix also in the form of meatballs. Just line the baking dish with parchement paper, form the meatballs and bake for 20 minutes on 355 F / 180 C.
