Sausage potato goulash
1 lb / 500 g potatoes, 14 oz / 400 g hot dogs, half onion...
1 medium size yellow onion
3 cloves garlic
oil, pepper
1 lb / 500 g minced beef
1/2 tbsp salt
1 tsp sweet paprika
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp dried marjoram (or oregano)
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp tomato puree
3 small beef buillon cubes
1 12 oz can diced tomatoes
1 12 oz can black beans
,1 small can corn
In the large pan heat the oil and brown onion, add finely chopped garlic and brown a little (be carefull not to burn the garlic, once it get brown it can be very bitter).
Add all your spices, sugar and tomato puree and roast this mix for a moment to come together.
Add your minced beef, break it into small pieces, add salt and pinch of pepper and sear it all together. Pour in the can of diced tomatoes, add about 1.5 cup / 350 ml of boling water together with bouillon cubes, stir and let simmer under the lid for about 30 minutes.If there is still too much liquid let it cook on higher heat opened till the liquid evaporate. Before you stir the chilli grab any additional fat from the top of the mix.
Stir in drained beans and corn and let them warm up in the sauce.
Serve with fresh bread or nachos, you can add a spoon of sour cream and some grated cheese as well.
